biasing
- 1The process of adding a bias, or fixed tendency, that pushes a result in one direction.

- 2Present participle and gerund of bias.
Critics accused the editor of biasing coverage in favor of the incumbent.
The faulty sensor was biasing every reading slightly high.
Note
The -ing form of a transitive verb, so it almost always has an object right after it: biasing coverage, biasing every reading. After a form of be it builds the progressive (was biasing). As a gerund it names the act and can still keep that object (accused of biasing coverage). When it takes an article and a plural instead, the biasings, it has become the noun for the process.
