Note
An extension of POC that surfaced on social media around 2013. It puts Black and Indigenous people at the front of the broader person-of-color label. Watch its grammar. As a plural it usually stays unchanged (all BIPOC know, BIPOC come from), though BIPOCs also occurs. It also works readily before another noun, as in BIPOC influencers or BIPOC-led groups, which is where much social-justice writing uses it.
