don'ts

- 1Plural of don't.
The safety manual is full of don'ts that every new employee must memorize.
She summarized the office etiquette as a short list of dos and don'ts.
Note
A contraction turned noun takes its plural the ordinary way: the -s goes on the end and the apostrophe stays where the missing letter was, so it is don'ts, never don't's. It lives chiefly in the pair dos and don'ts, whose partner is spelled dos. Eleanor H. Porter's Just David (1916) plays on the pair: all the pleasant things were "don'ts" and all the unpleasant ones "dos."
