Note
A name for the markup language behind web pages, and also for the file format written in it. Its rules let a single document combine text, graphics, sound, video and hyperlinks for a browser to display. Each letter is spoken separately, so it takes "an": an HTML file, an HTML editor. Developers also use it loosely for a page's code itself, as in cleaning up the HTML.
