interactions
- 1Plural of interaction.
Researchers logged thousands of online interactions during the study period.
Her warm interactions with customers helped the small shop build loyal regulars.
Note
Only the countable side of interaction takes this plural. Both of its meanings, things acting on one another to produce an effect and an exchange between people, work as count and mass nouns. The mass use names the process in general (there was little interaction). The plural counts separate episodes or effects (thousands of interactions, interactions between two variables). Reach for it when the instances can be told apart.
