liked
- 1Simple past and past participle of like.
The students liked their new teacher from the very first day.
His proposal was liked by nearly everyone on the committee.
Note
A regular form doing double duty: one spelling serves as the simple past (they liked it) and as the past participle after have or be (she had liked it; it was liked). The participle also works as an adjective, graded more liked and most liked, so the most liked proposal is idiomatic. Older English could reverse the roles, making the thing that pleases the subject. That pattern is archaic and best kept for quotation.
