memories
MEM-uh-reez/ˈmɛm.(ə.)ɹiz/
- 1Plural of memory.
The old photographs stirred up memories she had long forgotten.
Veterans gathered to exchange memories of the campaign.
Note
A regular plural, but not every meaning of memory takes it. The faculty itself (a good memory, a failing memory) is uncountable, so it seldom appears in the plural. Memories are almost always separate recollections: childhood memories, memories of the war. Computing allows the plural too, for distinct stores of data. In an obsolete use, memories could also mean memorials.
