pesos
- 1Plural of peso.
The vendor counted out the change in worn, crumpled pesos.

Note
A plain -s plural. The only real question is whose money is meant. Today it counts the circulating currency of Mexico, Argentina, Chile, Colombia, Cuba, the Dominican Republic, Uruguay and the Philippines, so when the country matters, name it: Mexican pesos, Philippine pesos. In historical writing it can instead mean the old Spanish dollar, worth eight reales, the coin of Spain and its colonies.
