One spelling does both jobs: she revised the plan, and the plan was revised or has been revised. Most uses carry the editing meaning of altering and amending something written, as in a revised draft or revised figures. In British, Australian and New Zealand English, students also revised for an examination, meaning they went back over what they had already learned.
