sessions
SaySESH-uhnz/ˈsɛʃənz/
- 1Plural of session.
The conference scheduled several breakout sessions after the keynote.
Her recovery required dozens of physical therapy sessions over the year.
Note
A regular plural with one trap: a legislature's annual or semiannual periods are sessions, and so are the individual meetings held within them, so "three sessions" can count either layer, and context must decide. Cricket uses the word more strictly. A day's play has exactly three sessions: start to lunch, lunch to tea, tea to close. Folk musicians, meanwhile, say sessions on its own for jam sessions.
