Oppositepublisher
Note
A term from the publish–subscribe pattern, which models software on the magazine reader's relationship: the publisher sends, and it never needs to know who is listening. Because the two are not directly coupled, items arrive asynchronously, and the publisher behaves the same with many subscribers or none. Addy Osmani's Developing Backbone.js Applications (2013) calls this the fire-and-forget model. The word's natural partner in code is publisher.
