syntheses
- 1Plural of synthesis.

Note
A Greek-pattern plural: the singular's -is becomes -es, just as analysis gives analyses and thesis gives theses. The plural belongs to the countable uses of synthesis. It can name separate chemical reactions that build complex compounds, or distinct combinations of ideas, as when different thinkers reconcile a thesis and its antithesis in different ways. Where synthesis names the general process, it stays singular.
