trashed
- 1Simple past and past participle of trash.
Vandals trashed the playground over the weekend.
She has trashed two laptops this year alone.
Note
A regular form, and one spelling serves twice: as the simple past (they trashed the room) and as the participle after have or be (the room had been trashed). Besides the American senses of discarding, wrecking and beating soundly, it carries meanings far from the dump: lopping or cropping, and holding a hunting dog back on a leash. As an adjective it doubles as the slang word for drunk.
- 2Heavily intoxicated from drinking too much alcohol.
By midnight half the guests were completely trashed.
She showed up to the meeting still trashed from the night before.
Similardrunk, wasted, plastered, hammered, smashed

Note
Slang that usually follows a verb: people get trashed or are trashed, as in Spock's Beard's 1996 song "Thoughts," which proposes a night out drinking with that aim. It grades like an ordinary adjective, with more trashed and most trashed, and pairs readily with completely. Keep it for casual talk. In neutral writing, drunk or intoxicated says the same thing without the party atmosphere.
