uploaded
- 1Simple past and past participle of upload.
The team uploaded the final report to the shared drive.
He had uploaded the video before anyone noticed the missing audio.
Note
One spelling does double duty here. On its own it is the simple past (she uploaded the photos), and after have or be it is the participle of the perfect and the passive (the photos have been uploaded). The verb works with or without an object. In Canada it also has a government sense: a service that has been uploaded has had its responsibility passed to a higher level of government.
- 2Having been digitally sent from one's own computer to a website, server, or someone else's computer.
The uploaded dataset was immediately available to the research team.
Once uploaded, the records remained accessible from any device with the right credentials.
Note
An adjective that cannot be graded: a file is uploaded or it is not, so more uploaded and very uploaded do not occur. It is easiest to recognize before a noun (the uploaded dataset) or in a shortened clause (once uploaded). After has or was, the same word is the verb's past participle instead.
