has
- 1Third-person singular present tense of have.
Each member has a vote on the committee.
The new model has a longer battery life than its predecessor.
Note
An irregular form: the expected haves, still found in Middle English beside has, haes and hafs, lost its v and settled as has. Hath, with the -th ending, is its counterpart in older English. It does double duty: it is a main verb of possession (the latter has a seta four cells across) and the auxiliary of the present perfect, paired with a past participle (the Revolution has influenced later movements).
