reported
- 1Simple past tense and past participle of report.
The witness reported seeing two men leave the building.
Several minor injuries were reported after the collision.
Note
One regular -ed form does double duty: it stands alone as a past tense (she reported for duty) and follows have or be as a participle. The meanings sort themselves by construction. Showing up at an appointed time is intransitive, so it takes only have: he has reported to the front desk. Notifying the authorities is transitive and passivizes freely: the theft was reported to the police; the officer was reported for misconduct.
